North Santa Rosa

Final Week

This year’s prep football regular season has all but come and gone. Last week, Jay was off, and all the attention was on the rivalry between Pace and Milton…and they did not disappoint. Pace won in overtime on a failed Milton two point conversion try, 35-34.

Panama City Arnold(4-5) @ Milton (2-8) 7pm

Milton has had a rough year. Coming off last week’s close loss in overtime to rival Pace, it’s hard to predict how well the Panthers will respond. Milton has been competitive against top competition this year, hanging tough with Pine Forest and Crestview, before eventually losing close games. It will be an interesting night at Haywood Hanna Stadium.

Last year, Panama City Arnold defeated Milton, 51-43.

Catholic(4-5) @ Pace (4-5) 7:30pm

Pace is coming off a big win against Milton. They’ve got to be riding high since last Friday night and they have a chance, with a win Friday night, to improve their record to .500. A losing season looked imminent when the Patriots dropped four losses in a row mid-season. Now they have a shot to avoid that in Kent Smith’s first year as head coach at Pace.

Last year,  Pace outscored Catholic, 35-13.

Jay (1-8) @ South Walton(6-2) 7pm

Jay is coming off a bye week. They should be well rested since their big win (50-0 over Rocky Bayou) two weeks ago during homecoming. The young Royals have been getting better all year and are playing their best football right now. South Walton has already had a busy week as they were involved in a 3 way shootout on Monday night between Blountstown and Port St. Joe. South Walton lost and will not be going to the playoffs. How the Seahawks respond to an already disappointing week and short week of practice for them will be interesting.

Last year, South Walton beat Jay, 59-26.
