June Lassiter

Erie June Lassiter, age 88, of Jay, Florida passed away October 14, 2016. She was born June 4, 1928 in Holt, Florida. She passed shortly after 8 a.m., just three days in Hospice. Her wish not to be placed in a nursing home was honored by the Father. June was the youngest of three girls, all born prior to the eight brothers. June always put service for all others before herself. She lived at home for 33 years, born to a Share Crop Farmer. She worked at Whiting Field for five years and then at Vanity Fair for 22 years. Every time she surpassed quota they would switch her to another area so they didn’t have to pay for extra effort. Upon “retirement” she provided nursing care for her mother-in-law for many years. She married Almie Lassiter December 23, 1961 and had no children. June was a lifelong member of Cobbtown Holiness Church in Jay, Florida. She will be interred in the Cobbtown Holiness Cemetery on October 19, four months after her birthday.She is preceded in death by her mother, Jessie; father, Carl H. Hall; middle sister, Virginia Trawick; and brother, Rodney Hall.

June is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Almie Lassiter; siblings including her older sister, Colleen Gibson (92) of California, Dale Hall of Milton, Eric Hall of Jay, Ronald Hall of Riverside, CA, Carl Hall of Jay, Jesse Hall of San Antonio, TX, and David Hall of Jay.
A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the chapel of Jay Funeral Home, 3853 Highway 4, Jay, Florida 32565, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Jay Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jim Lassiter officiating. Committal services will follow at Cobbtown Holiness Church Cemetery.
