North Santa Rosa

Week 8

Fall is here! You can feel it in the air, the temperature, and on the field. BIG games this week with playoff implications!

Pace (3-4) @ Gulf Breeze(6-1, 1-0)—Game time 7:00pm (DISTRICT GAME)

Pace is really in the thick of their schedule. The Patriots have lost three in a row. They played one-loss Tate last week, undefeated Crestview the week before, and undefeated Navarre the week before that and now the surprising team of the year in our area, Gulf Breeze. Gulf Breeze has been very physical this season thus far and will look to keep that momentum going in front of their home crowd this Friday. Friday night’s game is big double whammy for Pace to stop the 3 game losing skid, while also trying to win a district game.

Last year, Pace defeated Gulf Breeze, 42-31.

Milton (2-6, 0-1) @ Navarre(6-0)   Game time 7:30pm

Milton will have its hands full with the undefeated Navarre Raiders. The Panthers played a very tough game last week against Crestview, falling 34-21. They have lost four in a row though and Navarre is arguably one of the best teams in the area. Milton will try and control the clock and keep Navarre’s speedy receivers off the field as much as possible. Navarre’s closest game was last week against Escambia, winning by a score of 17-13. Maybe Milton is catching them at a good time.

Last year, Navarre bested Milton, 35-0.

Jay (0-7, 0-1) @ Northview (4-3)—Game time 7:00pm (DISTRICT GAME)

Jay and Northview square off this Friday night with a playoff birth on the line. Add to that, it’s a rivalry game that Northview has owned for the last several years. Jay has yet to win a  game this season, but is coming off a competitive loss to Cottondale. Jay was trailing Cottondale 14-7 with 1:47 to go in the first half on Friday before the Hornets scored two touchdowns, making it 30-7 at the half. Jay outscored Cottondale 28-18 in the second half, losing 48-35. Northview, on the other hand, has had it’s own sort of drama. Two weeks ago the team decided to walk-off the field during the 3rd quarter to Maplesville, AL, leading to a forfeit. They were behind 21-0 at the time. This should be a very competitive game.

Last year, Northview edged the Royals, 7-0.

Have a great, safe week!
