Movie Lineup in Milton
The City of Milton presents Big Screen on the Blackwater – a three week series of free summer movies in Milton.Just like Milton’s Bands on the Blackwater series, bring a lawn chair or blanket and watch a movie the nights of July 15, July 22, and July 29.
City of Milton Marketing Director Pamela Holt said the city decided to include free movies during the break during July and August to continue having free entertainment downtown.
“The city wants to encourage both citizens and visitors to enjoy downtown and Blackwater River throughout the year,” said Holt.
“We are going to have a giant 25-foot screen downtown,” said Kyle Kemp, the City of Milton Parks and Recreation events coordinator. “You can watch the movie from the comfort of your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy these free outdoor summer shows.”
The free movies will start at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Milton. Each night you can bring your own refreshments or take advantage of available concessions.
All three movies are rated PG or PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America. Two of the movies carry the old rating of PG; suggested rating for today’s criteria places Ghostbusters and Jaws in the PG13 category.

Big Screen on the Blackwater Lineup
July 15 – Ghostbusters (1984) –Three former parapsychology professors set up shop in the Big Apple as a unique form of ghost removal. Come check out the fun and frivolity in this 1984 classic. And don’t forget to bring the marshmallows. Suggested MPAA rating: PG-13.
July 22 – Star Wars the Force Awakens (2015) – This is the seventh installment in the Star Wars series of epic space films. This movie stars original Star Wars cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher as well as some new characters introduced by co-writer and director J.J. Abrams. Rated PG-13.
July 29 – JAWS (1975) – Will you be afraid to get in the Blackwater River after this movie? This 1975 American thriller was directed by Stephen Spielberg about a giant man-eating great white shark attacking beach goers in Amity Island, a fictional New England summer resort town. Recommended rating: PG-13.
