Robert Blackmon Jr.
Robert Blackmon Jr. age 77 of Jay, Florida passed away on June 23, 2016. Jr. was born in Opp, Alabama. The family moved to Jay when Jr. was a small boy. Jr. and Hazel were married for 58 years. They have four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jr. was a butcher at Scott’s Plaza and Greer’s for 52 years. He also was a farmer. Jr. attended True Worship Assembly of God Church. Jr. is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilson Blackmon Sr. and mother, Lola Jane Blackmon; two sisters, Syble Fowler and Mary Nell McNab and one brother, Danny Ray Blackmon. Jr. is survived by his wife Hazel Blackmon; one daughter, Cynthia (Jeff) Wolfe; 3 sons, Wayne (Tracey) Blackmon, Preston (Kathy) Blackmon, and Glen (Tracey) Blackmon all of Jay; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Bogle, Brooks Wolfe, Derek Blackmon, Levi Blackmon, Dana Blackmon, Jamie Blackmon, and Breanna Blackmon; two great-grandchildren, Lennon Bogle and Emily Wolfe; one sister, Annette (Floyd) Cobb; one brother, Billy (Janice) Blackmon and lots of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at True Worship Assembly of God Church with Bro. Adam Peterson officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Sam Fowler, Scott Blackmon, Jerry Fowler, Leon Jackson, Stevie Scott, Zane Burkhead, Sandy Burkhead, and Tommy Scott.
