Huey P. Knowles
Huey P. Knowles of Flomaton, AL left this world of work and pain to spend Eternity in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ December 31, 2015.
Mr. Knowles was born in Flomaton and was a lifetime member of the community. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from the Department of Corrections after 32 years, a member of Moyeville Baptist Church, and the Moyeville Cemetery Committee. Mr. Knowles was a founding member of the Lambeth Volunteer Fire Department and was a avid fisherman. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Knowles was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Rufus and Minnie Knowles and his sisters, Alma Lois Knowles, Ila Fay Cumbie, Hazel Thomas and Doris Stewart.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Gwin Knowles of Flomaton, AL; daughters, Sharon Diane (Mike) Bell of Flomaton, AL, Brenda Joy ‘B.J.’ (Archie) Dansby of Flomaton, AL, Donna Elaine (Jerry) Coleman of Flomaton, AL, Tracy Hulene (Wayne) Sullivan of Flomaton, AL; brother, Jack Knowles of Stanley Cross Roads; sister, Beckie (Howard) Smith of East Brewton, AL; grandchildren, Shannon Petty, Joey Macks, Jessi Macks, Christopher Dailey, Jamie Dailey, Jacob Coleman, Brittany Wilson, Taylor Graves; great-grandchild, Sydney Bell and Emmett Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel from 6 until 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM with Rev. Mike Hutto and Bro. Robert Knowles officiating.
Interment will follow in Moyeville Cemetery, Flomaton, AL.
Pallbearers will be Edwin Knowles, Richie Thomas, Tony Thomas, Ed Turk, James Gardner, Eddie Burkett.
