North Santa Rosa

Week 9 Insider

The end of football season is approaching but district races are still not over. While Jay’s fate was sealed Friday night against Northview, Milton and Pace are both 1-1 in district play and still have a chance for postseason play.

Both Milton and Pace are off this week to get ready for, you guessed it, each other. Milton lost to Navarre last week, while Pace beat Gulf Breeze.

Jay(1-7, 0-2) @ Rocky Bayou(3-4, 3-1) (Destin Middle School) Kickoff Friday 7pm

Jay lost a tough one to Northview last Friday, 7-0. The win would have put the Royals in the playoffs for the first time since 2007. Jay reached the red zone 3 times but came away with zero points, in part due to untimely and questionable penalties and a fumbled snap. The Royals have an opportunity to get back in the win column this week when they face Rocky Bayou, but it won’t be easy. The Royals have played Rocky Bayou for four years now, winning each contest, but the Knights from Rocky Bayou have gotten better each year and the scores have shown that. This season, Rocky Bayou is 3-4, with all three of their wins coming from district opponents.

Last year, the Royals held on to beat Rocky Bayou at Jay, 41-38.

Hope everybody has a wonderful week!
