Navarre Beach Rescue Tube Project Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Navarre, FL October 13, 2015 — Rotary Club of Navarre is excited to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for their Navarre Beach Rescue Tube Project.

The event is scheduled for Monday, Oct 26th at 9:30 AM at the Summerwind Condos on Navarre Beach located at 8577 Gulf Blvd, Navarre, FL 32566. Their condo association is hosting our event and the Navarre Chamber will be doing the ribbon cutting ceremony.

This is a rain or shine event. We have a covered area for the ribbon cutting off the beach.

Since 2010, 6 people have drowned on Navarre Beach in the unguarded area that would be covered by these proposed rescue tube stations. In two instances, the victim of drowning was attempting to rescue a swimmer in distress.

Rescue tubes have shown to be effective in helping both swimmers in distress and the
Good Samaritans attempting to assist them in reaching the beach safely.

Rotary Club of Navarre appreciates the hard work of their Members to make this project happen as well as the employees and Commissioners of Santa Rosa County for their support.
