Buddy Watson

William Woodrow Watson 1921-2015 William (Buddy) Watson passed away Friday, September 18, 2015. Buddy was born in Hartford, Alabama and moved to Jay, Florida in the mid 1930’s. He worked for Charlie Wilkerson, Energy and Empire Gas Companies for 35 years serving people in Florida and Alabama. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church since 1968. He served in the military during WWII, he fought in the Philippines and was stationed in Japan. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 plus years Carldean Watson, his parents William J. and Florence H. Watson and eight sisters and five brothers and a host of brother and sister in laws. He is survived by his children Ronnie (Thelma), Randall (Lou) Watson, his daughters Barbara Watson and Debra (Melvin) Flenner his grandchildren Eric (Christina) Watson and Ben and Lora Watson, one great grandchild Conner Watson, and six step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Jay First Baptist Church Monday, September 21, 2015 with Dr. George Fredericks officiating, at 2:00 with visitation at 1:00. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery following the funeral, with Jay Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday school class. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
