Game Day(s)!
Football season is finally amongst us. Tis the season for kickoff jamborees! While these games do not count towards 2015 records, they are still very real in the minds of the student-athletes and coaches. The format for these games will be like that of any real game, with a few minor changes. Since the games do not count on the record books, coaches are able to play younger players and experiment players in different positions, while also tinkering with new offensive and defensive systems. In other words, it provides the teams with one last “practice” game before the 2015 high school football season officially starts. Be that as may though, these games are still very important to the schools and make no mistake, no one wants to lose on Friday night (or Thursday night if you’re a Milton Panther or a WS Neal Eagle).
Milton hosts WS Neal on a rare THURSDAY night game tonight. The two did not play last year. Game time is 7:00pm.
Pace travels to Choctaw High School. Last year, Pace hosted Choctaw in the first game of the season and lost, 36-28. Game time tonight is 7:00pm.
Jay hosts Baker in the annual Kickoff Classic. The two teams have been getting together for several years to play in this preseason classic. Last year, Baker beat Jay in the regular season, 42-14. Game time at Jay is 7:00pm.
