James E Marino

Dr. James E. Marino, 81 formerly of Crestview Florida passed into eternal life on June 13, 2015 in Columbus Georgia James was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 31, 1934 to Mary C. (Abruzzi ) and Charles G. Marino, Sr. “Dr. Jim” was a Retired Chiropractor, Doctor of Oriental and Holistic Medicines and a Certified Acupuncturist. Over the years “Dr. Jim” practiced in Florida, Arizona, Missouri, New York, Colorado and Mexico. James held degrees from Columbia School of Chiropractic, Emerson College of Herbology, Liao Ning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and The International Institute of Chinese Medicine. In 2008, James received the award of Knight of Honour for his exceptional performance with the Sovereign Medical Order of the Knights Hospitaller -Saint John of Jerusalem. James also received the Order of Excellence Award from the World Organization of Natural Medicine Practitioners for his service and the scientific advancement and its benefits for humanity that same year. James was a member of the Masonic Genesis Lodge No. 201. Having celebrated 58 years as a Mason on November 15, 2014 James also served as Master in 1986 and became a Life Member of his Lodge in September 1993. James enjoyed caring for others as well as hunting and reading. In addition to his parents, James was previously deceased by his loving wife Joan Marino as well as his beloved son James E. “Jimmy” Marino Jr. and his sister-in-law Mollie Marino. James is survived by his brother Charles Marino and his Nieces -Laura (John) Fischer, Marie (Joe) Snyder and Angela (Jim) Fischer. Great Nephews, Charles Weissberger, Joseph Snyder, Jr. and Great Niece Mollianne Fischer in addition to several Cousins. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9-10 am at Jay Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am at Gonzales United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Azalea Trace Nursing Facility for their continued compassion, kindness and care that they provided during James’ illness. Memorial Contributions in his honor made be made to Azalea Trace Nursing Facility 901 Talbotton Road, Columbus, GA 31901 or Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
