North Santa Rosa

It’s Gameday for the Royals and Jaguars!

Two north Santa Rosa teams are still in the hunt for a state championship. Ironically, the two teams are bitter rivals, less than 15 miles apart. And, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they would meet in the final four in Vero Beach, Florida next week. However, as great as that would be, there is much work for both schools to do tonight. Yes, Jay and Central are both playing tonight, and the stakes are high.

Jay, with a 21-3 record on the year, is hosting Chipley tonight. The two teams have played 3 times this year, with Jay winning 2 of the 3, including a 12 inning thriller in which won the Royals’ and head coach Brian Watson his fourth district championship in a row.

Central, with a record of 17-6, lead by head coach Nick Golden, is heading to Sneads tonight. The two have not played this year, and have only had one common opponent, the Vernon Yellow Jackets. Sneads has beat Vernon 9-0, 4-1, and 7-3 in their district championship. Central defeated Vernon earlier in the week 5-1.

While a Jay vs. Central in the final four is a real possibility, whatever happens, both schools have much to be proud of. Make sure you find your way to either Sneads or Jay tonight to support these teams and coaches.
