Patriots season comes to an end

2/13

The Pace Patriots lost last night to Gainesville High School 62-52. With the loss, the Patriots season comes to an end with a 16-10 record.

The Pace Patriots will be on the road tonight at Gainesville High School at 6pm in the 6A regional quarterfinal. While Pace has been improving every year, it has been quite some time since the Patriots made it to the playoffs. Carl Pippin, the Patriots Head Coach, actually did take the Patriots to playoffs, but that was back in 2009. Now that they are here again, they would like to see how far they could go. Pippin will become Pace High School’s only boys’ basketball coach to lead the Patriots to the playoffs twice. (George Norton in 1980, Johnny Rogers in 1984, Murry Rutledge in 1986, and Sean Twitty in 2002 Source FHSAA.org)

If the Patriots were to win tonight, it would setup a rematch of the district championship game between them and PHS, that is if the Tigers can beat Oakleaf high tonight.  In last week’s championship game, the Tigers beat the Patriots 48-42.
