Wanda Thacker Cavanaugh

Wanda Thacker Cavanaugh age 85, of Milton, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014, after a brief illness. Wanda was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia. She and her late husband moved to Milton in 1956 and Milton has been her home since that time. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Thacker and husband John Cavanaugh; parents, Cecil and Mayme Hammack; brothers, Ralph and Raymond Hammack and sister Wilma Young White. Wanda is survived by her son Dana Thacker (Terry) and daughter Deidra Ivey (Craig); grandchildren Sean David Thacker, Megan Ivey Day (Lee), Morgan Leigh Ivey, Jacob Brent Thacker and Shelby Alicia Thacker; and great-grandchildren, Alisha Lynn Thacker, David Brent Thacker, Emma Jane Thacker and Lima Alexander Thacker. Wanda touched the lives of many people with her generosity, smile, and volunteer work; she loved her church and serving the Lord. She especially loved her family and friends. Wanda was a loving mother, a wonderful and supportive grandmother and great-grandmother and a treasured friend. We will miss her dearly. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 25, 2014 at Pine Terrace Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Brother Mike Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Terrace Baptist Building Fund or Covenant Hospice Pallbearers are Sean Thacker, Jacob Thacker, Lee Day, John Young, Bill Spencer, and Bobby Hutchinson. Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
