Jay’s Varsity Cheerleaders attend Camp at UCF

The Jay Varsity Cheerleaders just returned from stunt camp at the University of Central Florida.  The camp was sponsored by UCA.  The girls learned new stunts, cheers, and dances to excited the crowd during the upcoming football and basketball seasons.  Each night of the camp,  the squad competed to see if the materials from the day were now ‘game ready’  The team scored superior blue ribbons in each evaluation.    Jay’s squad also competed on the final day, earning a bid to perform in the Capital One bowl.  They also won the ‘Tradition” award which is voted on by the UCA staff for the team who exhibits  inspiring leadership on and off the field!  This award earned the girls a plaque, and a Gatorade cooler filled with a year supply of Gatorade products.

These girls didn’t stop there…Four girls earned the “Pin it Forward” award for leadership:   Miranda Roberts, Brittani Ashworth, Savannah Dubose, and Kaley Cofield.  In the All-American competition, four Royals were selected:  Brittani Ashworth, Makenzie Bray, Alisha Roberts, and Kendra Wells.

Two cheerleaders were also invited to try-out for the UCA staff in May of 2015, for a chance to work for UCA at summer camps, and travel with the instructors to events.  Alisha Roberts was  selected as a Top-girl at camp, and Brittani Ashworth for leadership.
