Santa Rosa Teen Charged with Murder

SRSO Investigators have arrested William Brandon Aydelott (DOB:2-22-96) of Gulf Breeze. He is charged with the murder of his mother, Sharon Lynn Aydelott.

Investigators were able to determine that the suspect had been arguing with the victim for an undisclosed amount of time. The suspected then stabbed the victim several times with kitchen knives and also struck the victim with a baseball bat. The victim succumbed to the wounds on scene.

The suspect then fled the crime scene. He was at large for approximately 3 hours until Deputies were able to locate him. The suspect was staying at a residence nearby when deputies located his vehicle. Deputies surrounded the home and attempted to make contact. The suspected surrendered without incident.

The suspect was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he confessed to the murder.

At this time, William Brandon Aydelott remains in custody and is being held with no bond. The suspect is 17 years of age.
