Pensacola Marathon Offers 30 “Charity Spots” for Sunday’s Race Funds Raised to Benefit Operation Wounded Warrior Support
With the 2013 Pensacola Marathon only six days away on Sunday, Nov. 10, only a few spots remain in both the half and full marathon.
The race is pleased to announce it is offering 10 full marathon and 20 half marathon Charity Spots, which guarantees entry into the event. The Charity Spot will be sold for $150 with half the money going toward Operation Wounded Warrior Support. Five current and former Army Rangers are raising funds and running in this year’s event to raise money for this cause. Currently, they have raised over $12,000.
Operation Wounded Warrior Support is part of the Jubilee Foundation, a 501C-3. Its mission is to provide financial support and outdoor activities for wounded veterans.
Only 20 regular priced half marathon spots will be offered at the expo and packet pick-up on Friday, Nov. 8 from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m., for $70 on a first come – first serve basis.
Participants need to call the Pensacola Sports Association’s office at 850-434-2800 in order to reserve and pay for one of the Charity Spots. For complete race information, runners can visit www.marathonpensacola.com.
