Mack Coffey

Mack Coffey died peacefully at home in his sleep on September 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Henry and Derlie Coffey; wife, Vivian Coffey; daughter, Ruth Coffey and brothers, Joel and Frank Coffey. He is survived by his children, Wayne Coffey of Brewton, Mack Coffey of Brewton, Loretta Carter of Huntsville and Charles Coffey of Huntsville; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mack Coffey was one of 10 children born to John Henry and Derlie Coffey in Cobbtown, Florida. Growing up with 5 sisters and 4 brothers on a farm must have been hard. As a few children escaped and went north to the Big Apple (New York). Here is where he met his future wife, Mrs. Vivian Coffey straight off the Reservation. After returning Mack moved to Huntsville where he and Vivian started their family, where he found his job at Ryder. Ryder is where he retired from and after retirement Mack moved to Brewton to spend his golden years with family and close friends. Mack was an avid fisherman who loved to spend time fishing with anyone he loved. Mack was a man who would do anything to help someone in need always with a big smile and a kind word. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Jay Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Jay Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cobbtown Mennonite Cemetery. Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
