State Attorney announces conviction of Faxon
State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that on June 25, 2013, Garrett Austin Faxon of Milton was convicted by a Santa Rosa County Jury of Burglary of a Dwelling, Grand Theft of a Firearm and Grand Theft. Following the verdict, Circuit Judge David Rimmer sentenced Faxon to 25 years in state prison for the crimes.
The twenty-one year old Garrett Austin Faxon was arrested by Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Detectives on June 24, 2011 after their investigation revealed that Faxon had broken into a home in Pace stealing a number of items including a firearm and the victim’s medic alert bracelet. Faxon has eight other cases with similar charges still pending. Those cases are set for trial on August 26, 2013.
The defendant was previously convicted as an adult of Grand Theft, two Grand Theft of Firearms and a misdemeanor Petit Theft. As a juvenile, Defendant Faxon was convicted of four burglaries of a dwelling, a grand theft, felony criminal mischief and two misdemeanor criminal mischief. Defendant has been in the criminal system consistently since 2003.
