Register for the Riverwalk Run 5k and Save $5

Milton, Fla. – June 24, 2013 – The City of Milton is offering a $5 discount to all participants that register early for the Riverwalk Run 5k.

Individuals can sign up online at www.runsignup.com. The fee is $20, but those that register July 4 through 7 can use discount code: July4 and save $5. An in-store sign up will be held at Academy Sports + Outdoors on October 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $15 that evening.

This year’s event will be held on Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. in downtown Milton. Racers will run or walk along a route of residential streets, a concrete trail and a boardwalk which will provide a quick tour of historic Milton and the Blackwater River. The post-race celebration will immediately follow and features music, food, drinks and awards.

After all racers cross the finish line, event staff will randomly draw a race number; that participant will win $250 cash. “Regardless of skill level, we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to win,” said Linsey Williamson, event director.

Two other participants will have a chance to win money as well. The male and female racers that set new course records will be awarded $250 each.

Since 2010 Sandy Ebanks has held the female course record of 20:27. Nate Crum holds the male course record of 15:46.
