Jay Tennis teams top Milton

Coach Melvin Kearsey stated ” It’s a good start to the year.”.  The Royal boys and girls tennis teams are undefeated at 2-0.   Both teams beat Milton 6-1 , on their home court this afternoon.  In boys doubles action;  Goodson/Trevino defeated Dempsey/Dunn 8-4,  Paramore/Garcia also defeated Garrett/Williams 9-8.  Evan Goodson went down to Dempsey 8-3, Eric Trevino defeated Garrett 8-3, Paramore beat Williams 8-2, Garcia beat Dunn 8-4, and Wolfe beat Abenojar 8-3.

On the girls scene,doubles, Hendricks/ E. Russell beat Scott/Mock 8-5, and Owens/A. Russell beat Howard/Lopez 8-2.  H. Hendricks lost to Scott 8-1, E Russell beat Mock 8-3, C. Owens beat Howard 8-1, A. Russell defeated Jackson 8-1, and Katheryn English defeated Weatherly 8-5.

The Royals will get into full district play next week  when they face South Walton and Pensacola Catholic, but the Jay teams are working extra hard to be ready to face them.
