Royals Tennis sweeps Freeport

The Jay Royal tennis team opened their season against Freeport this afternoon.  The boys and girls teams both overpowered Freeport’s teams 7-0.

In boys action, Evan Goodson defeated Kutz 8-3,  Eric Trevino defeated Ye 8-1, Cody Paramore beat Kutcher 8-0, Justice Garcia beat Burgess 8-1, and Josh Cobb defeated Lenoir 8-2.  The Royals also dominated in Doubles with Goodson/Trevino beating Kutz/Ye 8-1, and Paramore/Garcia defeating Burgess/Lenoir 8-1.

The Lady Royals were on top of their game also.  Hillary Hendricks beat Sagraves 8-3, Emily Russell defeated McCrane 8-0, Carly Owens beat Batson 8-0, Alison Russell beat Sadler 8-1, and Katheryn English defeated Green 8-0.  In doubles action,  Hendricks/E. Russell beat Sagraves/McCrane 8-1, and Owens/A. Russell defeated Batson/Sadler 8-2.

The Royals Tennis team is in their second season and is coached by Melvin Kearsey.
