Double Bridge Run Pre-Party Planned for Saturday, Jan. 19
In anticipation of the first-ever sell out of The Double Bridge Run, the race is teaming up with Running Wild to hold the 2013 Double Bridge Run Pre-Race Party. On Saturday, Jan. 19 from noon to 5 p.m., athletes can stop by Running Wild, located at 3012 E. Cervantes St., to sign up for the 16th Annual Double Bridge Run Presented by Publix.
Race staff will be on hand to accept race applications. Just for signing up, participants will receive a free gift. The same great deal will be available to those that have already registered, while supplies last. Additionally, all registrants can enter to win free gifts from Brooks, Asics, Newton, and more. For those needing a new pair of shoes, Brooks is offering an additional free gift with any Brooks purchase.
“The growth of this race is amazing to see and be a part of and we want to say ‘thank you’ to all our participants and supporters,” said Ray Palmer, Executive Director of the Pensacola Sports Association, the race’s managing organization. “Running Wild is a longtime supporter of the race, their knowledge of the sport and customer service is top notch and we’re pleased to partner with them for this special one-time event.”
The race is quickly approaching the caps of 2,500 for the 15K race and 1,500 in the 5K race. If the race sells out prior to the 19th, the party will still go on as planned with discounts and prizes to be awarded.
The Double Bridge Run, which was recently named the 11th largest 15K in the Country, begins in beautiful downtown Pensacola, goes through the historic district, over the 3-Mile Bridge, through Gulf Breeze, over the Bob Sykes Bridge, and ends at the Portofino Pensacola Beach boardwalk.
