SRC Honors Veterans

Santa Rosa County Honors Veterans 

Santa Rosa County residents are encouraged to attend the 2012 Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony held in downtown Milton on Monday, Nov. 12. Veterans Dustin Tuller and Daniel Palmer will serve as the parade grand marshals and retired Brig. Gen. Mike Ferguson is the ceremony keynote speaker. The annual parade will kick off the festivities honoring those who have served our country at 9:30 a.m., beginning at MiltonHigh School and ending at the Santa Rosa County Veterans Plaza at 5178 Willing Street, Milton. The Veterans Day Ceremony will follow the parade at 11 a.m. in front of the Santa Rosa County Veterans Plaza.

The day’s events will conclude with a Veterans Day Picnic hosted by Santa Rosa County 4-H, also at theSanta Rosa County Veterans Memorial Plaza.  In addition, the Santa Rosa County Veterans Memorial Foundation, a non- profit organization, will collect donations for the Vets to VA Clinics shuttle service. Vets to VA clinics provides free transportation on Tuesdays and Thursdays to the VA Clinic in Pensacola forSanta Rosa County veterans who do not have their own means of transportation.

In the event of severe weather, the Veterans Day Ceremony will be held in the Milton High School auditorium at 11 a.m.  Both events are sponsored by the Veterans Community Planning Committee.
