Two Arrested in Store Owner Murder/Robbery
Two men were arrested today and charged with the murder of Thomas Gerald Kroll. Kroll was shot and killed yesterday during a robbery attempt of his business, O’Yes Lotto on Hwy. 97 in Walnut Hill.
Malcolm Troy McGhee, pictured below, was arrested early this morning in Escambia County, AL and is awaiting extradition to Escambia County, FL.

Brent Dewayne Lambeth, pictured below, was arrested by Sheriff’s Office investigators, personnel from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Century Correctional Institute K-9, Atmore Police Department and Escambia County, AL investigators this afternoon in a wooded area on Sandy Hollow Ln. in Century. He is being held at the Escambia County Jail under no bond.

Investigators received information from confidential sources that led to their arrest. During the investigation, it was discovered that McGhee and Lambeth specifically targeted Kroll’s business because of previous purchases of Spice and intended on robbing the store of more Spice that day.
Both McGhee and Lambeth are being charged with Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

In the original press release concerning the Robbery and Murder: Deputies responded to O’Yes Lotto store located at 11331 Hwy. 97 in Century yesterday for a robbery. Once on scene, deputies learned that two masked men, one armed with a handgun, entered the store around
1:30p.m. and attempted to rob the owner. The owner, identified as 74- year-old Thomas Gerald Kroll was shot and killed after an exchange of gunfire. The suspects fled the store in an unknown direction. Sheriff’s Office deputies, Air Unit and K-9 unit responded but were unable to locate the suspects. The suspects were described as two
males, tall and thin, wearing black ski masks and blue jeans.
