Royals struggle, Lose 46-7 to Freeport
The Jay Royals had a unpleasant evening and really struggled in their final district game of 2012 season friday night. The task for Freeport was simple, beat Jay and secure second place in the 1-1A district. Unfortunately for the Royals the bulldogs made it look easy.
Turnovers, penalties, miscues and poor pass defense plagued the Royals who went into the locker room at the half behind 39-0. Jay faired better in the second half holding Freeport to only one touchdown . The Royals also scored themselves when quarterback Tate Upton found receiver Colton Williams on a 10 yard pass to prevent the shutout. The Final score was 46-7.
Northview secured 1st in the district with a win over Baker.
