Reynolds Arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash Involving Death

The Florida Highway Patrol announced the arrest of Rhea Lynn Reynolds, age 27, of Niceville, FL. on a FHP warrant for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash Involving Death, related to a traffic crash that killed Harry Robert Crawford, age 63 on April 8th, 2012 at 5:30 A.M. on US 98 near Pier Rd on Okaloosa Island.

Crash synopsis: On April 8th, 2012, at 5:30 a.m., D-1, Rhea Reynolds, was driving V-1, a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, westbound on US 98 on Okaloosa island when she struck Mr. Crawford from the rear, who was riding his bicycle westbound on the right edge of US 98. Rhea Reynolds fled the scene of the traffic crash without stopping to render aid to Mr. Crawford. Mr. Crawford expired on the scene from the injuries sustained in the crash.

FHP completed its traffic homicide investigation and applied for and received an arrest warrant for Reynolds on October 16, 2012. FHP arrested Reynolds on October 17, 2012 without incident.

Reynolds is being held with no bond in the Okaloosa County pending first appearance in court.
