Pensacola Marathon Adds Results Messaging Services
Participants can register for free at www.marathonpensacola.com to receive the messages. Message types include SMS, Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail. Upon registering, the user will assign how he/she wants to be notified. The timing system will then automatically send updates at each split time or once the runner crosses the finish line.
“We are pleased to work with our timing company, Event Technical Services, and Simmco Data Systems, to provide this new service to our runners, for free,” said Jason Libbert, Pensacola Marathon Race Manager. “Anytime we can incorporate new technology to enhance the runner’s experience of the event, we welcome and embrace that opportunity.”
In addition to this service, fans will be able to access a computer at the finish line to view their favorite runner’s status along the course.
