Man in Custody in Alabama after Stabbing

Deputies responded to a stabbing at Odom’s bar at the Florida Alabama line last night around 9:15pm. Once they arrived on scene, they found the victim inside the bar with obvious stab wounds, but he was conscious and alert. Witnesses stated that earlier in the evening an altercation occurred between the suspect, Johnnie Brittingham, and the victim that resulted in the victim being stabbed.
Brittingham fled the scene before deputies arrived, but returned to the scene of the crime to retrieve his vehicle. While there conducting their investigation, deputies observed Brittingham’s truck leaving the parking lot of Odom’s bar. The deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver continued to a residence in Alabama, about 300 yards from the bar. At this time, Flomaton Police Department as well as Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama responded to assist. The driver, Brittingham, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Escambia County Alabama. He is being held on no bond and charges are pending in Escambia County Florida related to the stabbing
