Margaret Louise Campbell Gandy

Ms. Louise Gandy, 73, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012.  Mrs. Gandy was born January 8, 1939 to Rufus and Katie Campbell in Century, Florida.  She was a native of Century, Florida and resides in Molino, Florida.  She was owner of Gandy’s Ambulance Service, and then went to work for Escambia County Emergency Medical Services as a supervisor and coordinator, after retiring from Escambia County she started her own business for over 25 years, Gandy’s Nursery and Landscaping.  Some knew her by “Momma”, “Granny Lou” and “Aunt B”.

She proceeded in death by her father and mother, Rufus and Katie Campbell, her brothers, Dennis and Cornelius Campbell, her two children, Troy Gandy and Dianne Salter.

She is survived by her two children, Katie (Roger) Burkett, of Century, Florida, and Robert (Yvette) Gandy, of Berrydale, Florida, her brothers, Billy (Faye) Campbell, of Pensacola, Florida, James (Velda) Campbell, of Century, Florida, her sister, Dorothy Johnson, of Century, Florida.  She has 10grandchildren, Patrick (Cara) Salter of Milton, Florida, Mikey(RobbieLynn) Burkett of Flomaton, Alabama, Maunica (Will) Williams of Century, Florida, Carlyn (Wesley) Salter of Jay, Florida, Jeremy (Monica) Grimes of Century, Florida, JavisGrimes of Century, Florida, Megan (Anthony) Golden ofBerrydale, Florida, Jarred Gandy of Berrydale, Florida, Joy (Justin) White of Jay, Florida, Philip Gandy of Berrydale, Florida, and Kennedy Salter of Jay, Florida. She was the proud great-grandmother of 11 beautiful great-grandchildren, Emily, Rebecca, Trinity, Joshua, and Ava Salter, Amber Burkett,Jacklynn and Weston Salter, Madalyn Grimes, Kendall Grimes, and Landon Golden, many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Mrs. Gandy was very well known for her love of the outdoors.  She enjoyed working in her yard and in others yard, she knew every flower and tree for all seasons.  She loved fishing, on the open water she was in her own element.  Traveling with family and friends was her gypsy root coming through and enjoyed every minute she spent with them.

Pallbearers will be grandson: Patrick Salter, Jeremy Grimes,Javis Grimes, Jarred Gandy, Philip Gandy, Will Williams, and Justin White.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8pm and the funeral service will be Wednesday, October 3 at 2 pm.  Both will be at Berrydale Baptist Church.
