PERDIDO CHAMBER WINS TOURISM AWARDS FOR SMART MARKETING
The chamber won a silver Flagler award for its “Autumn Breezes E-mail blast” promoting tourism opportunities on the key after Labor Day and a bronze Flagler award for its “I Love Perdido Key Facebook” campaign.
The Flagler awards are presented annually by the Florida Commission on Tourism, which coordinates efforts to market the Sunshine State. The awards, named after Henry Flagler, a pioneer of Florida tourism, are determined by a panel of five judges who consider each entry’s creativity, innovation, production quality and effectiveness.
Alison Davenport, chair of the chamber, said credit also should go to Ideawörks, the Pensacola marketing firm which helps promote tourism on Perdido Key.
“We are thrilled to have been recognized for the first time in our 26-year history for effective marketing of Perdido Key,” Davenport said. “We have been fortunate to work with Ideawörks for the last three years, and their passion for making measurable gains regardless of the size of our budget has led to these two awards. We could not have done it without them.”
