Nationally Recognized Macular Degeneration Expert Joins Retina Specialty Institute
Pensacola, Fla. – Retina Specialty Institute (RSI) is proud to welcome Ryan M. Tarantola, M.D., to the Institute as a practitioner and researcher. Dr. Tarantola began serving patients on September 3 in Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, Mobile, Eastern Shore and Crestview offices.
Originally from St. Louis, Dr. Tarantola earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University and interned in transitional medicine at Forest Park Hospital. He completed his residency at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville, Tennessee and continued on to a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Tarantola is board certified in ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Tarantola is a nationally recognized researcher in ophthalmology with a strong emphasis on macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His is a widely published, peer-reviewed author and currently serves on the review boards of several leading medical journals.
