Walther Photo Selected As Finalist
Recently, Devon Walther, a graduate of Jay High, decided to enter a photo contest for the Canon Imagination Project with Director Rob Howard. It was spur of the moment and she had virtually no expectations to advance any further than just having her picture uploaded along with 5,000 others.
“Naturally I put it in the back of my mind until last week I received a phone call letting me know I was a potential finalist! After signing paperwork to declare it was in fact my original photo, and getting my parents to track down the two gentlemen in the photograph, here we are.”, says Devon. The cover is just a small portion of the original photo by Devon.
“It would mean a so much to me if you took a couple minutes of your time and voted for my photograph, taken in Jay, FL at Penton’s Feed & Seed Store (and if you feel up to it, vote once a day on it!”, she asks

Instructions on how to vote on Deven’s photo in the Canon- Long Live Imagination contest online.
1. Go to https://www.longliveimagination.com/
2. You will need to register as a member on the site to vote, and once registered can vote once a day 🙂 You have two options:
a. If you are a Facebook or Twitter member, you can login using that. First, make sure you are logged into either your Twitter or Facebook account. Next, visit the contest https://www.longliveimagination.com/, and click on ‘Register Login’ in black text against the white bar located at the top of the page (the Register Login tab is at the right end of that bar). You will see how you can login using Twitter or Facebook by clicking on either one, and follow the steps to complete registration and log in to the site.
b. Once logged in, you need to find Deven’s photo. The site navigation is slow. Her photo can be difficult to locate, and I highly recommend you just click on this link to find it: https://www.longliveimagination.com/gallery/photo/9188
c. This is where you vote. On that page, you will see a check mark in a box, in light grey. Click it to vote. To be clear, the check mark is under the feet of the man on the right in Deven’s photo. When you click it, nothing happens except the check mark turns from grey to white. If you want, click the ‘Share’ button and post it to Facebook.
d. That’s it! Thank you very much, we will let you know what happens by September 25
3. If you are not a member/user of Facebook or Twitter, you will need to register with the site directly. Visit the site at https://www.longliveimagination.com/. I promise that they do not want much information when you register, mainly your name and email to make sure you are a real person, plus your birth date so they can generate information for marketing purposes.
4. Visit the contest site https://www.longliveimagination.com/ , and click on ‘Register Login’ in black text against the white bar located at the top of the page (the Register Login tab is at the right end of that bar). You will be taken to a webpage with empty fields for you to type in your name, email, password of your choosing, and birth date. Plus, you will need to enter a randomly-generate 4-character code that they provide.
5. After you enter this information, click REGISTER. On the next page it takes you to, CLICK that you just want to comment and vote. You are now logged into the site!

IF selected by the public (the top 10 per theme), Deven’s picture potentially will be used in a short film directed by Ron Howard.
