Navarre Man Has Fatal Accident

Leonard Gustave Hayes, 52, of Navarre died in a single vehicle accident on Wednesday, September 12 around 1 pm.  Hayes driving a 2001 Ford F150 was traveling westbound within the inside travel lane of U.S. 98 (State Road 30). According to witnesses,  Hayes was traveling at a high rate of speed and traveled out of control when it entered into the grass median.

Traveling in a southwesterly direction,  Hayes began to rotate counter clockwise and overturned several times across the eastbound lanes. During the chain of events, Hayes failed to utilize
the vehicle’s seat belt and was subsequently ejected from the pickup. Both the truck and Hayes came to final rest on the south shoulder of U.S. 98 (State Road 30).
