Margaret Yancey Simmons of Jay died after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years Charles H. Simmons, her parents Louie F. and Mildred B. Yancey. She is survived by her children, Jonathon Simmons and wife Kimberly of San Jose California, Theresa M. Simmons of Dayton Texas, and Matthew D. Simmons of The Woodlands Texas and sisters Janice Y. Dew and husband Don of Crestview, Sandra Y Dockens and husband Don of Century and Sue Y. Bedsole and husband Virgle of Jay as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Margaret wore many hats in her life, Military wife, mother, business woman, sister and friend. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She was a member of Jay United Methodist Church. A time of visitation with the family will be at 10 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m. on Friday September 7th at the Jay Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
