Get the Smartest Card @ your library®
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and Pittsburgh Steelers two-time Super Bowl champion Troy Polamalu is encouraging children to get the most important school supply of all: a library card. As the Honorary Chair of Library Card Sign-up Month, Polamalu reminds parents and educators that a library card is a key tool in achieving academic success, “The library card is the smartest card in my wallet. Sign up for yours today.”
Studies show that children learn best when they have the opportunity to pursue their own interests. That’s why a library card is the most important school supply of all. Libraries provide students with access to innovative programs and educational resources to support their curiosity.
In tough economic times, your library card gives you free access to books and computers, homework help, assistance with resumes and job searches, accurate financial information, adult education courses, music, movies and much more. Best of all it won’t cost you a thing – it’s all free with a library card.
