Milton Man Dies as Result of Motorcycle Accident
Justin Robert Woods, 28, of Milton died as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident Thursday, August 23, 2012 around 4:30 pm. The2007 Honda motorcycle was exceeding the posted speed limit for the on ramp for northbound Interstate 110. Woods lost control of the motorcycle in the right curve and struck the concrete barrier wall with the left side and tires, resulting in the motorcycle traveling up the concrete barrier wall and becoming airborne. Both Woods and the bike traveled in a westward direction over the concrete barrier wall and descended from the raised on ramp.
They both struck the top rear of of a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Catherine Goddette, 49 of Pensacola as it traveled southbound on Alcaniz Street , which passes under the on ramp for northbound Interstate 110. Woods and the bike came to final rest on the west side of Alcaniz Street. The vehicle driven by Goddette, came to final rest at the intersection of Alcaniz Street and Gregory Street facing south, in the middle travel lane.
Woods was transported to Baptist Hospital were he passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident.
