Two Arrested for Drunk Driving

Adult and Juvenile Arrested After Drunk Juvenile Drives for Drunk Adult

A Milton man, and a juvenile relative, were both arrested after the drunk man had the drunk juvenile drive for him.  The incident happened on 8/17/2012 at 1900 hours on Highway 90 in East Milton.   Dispatch had received two complaints on the vehicle that the subjects were in, stating that it was being operated in a reckless manner.  Deputies were able to spot the vehicle and observed an erratic driving pattern.  When deputies stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, they noticed an overwhelming odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle.  The driver was heavily intoxicated and belligerent with the deputies, using profanity. Deputies found that the driver was 15 years old, and was driving due to the adult passenger (a relative) being too intoxicated to drive. The adult (Christopher Stone, 47 years old) was the front seat passenger. He stated that he wasn’t driving because he was too impaired to drive.  Stone was too intoxicated to remember the birthday of the juvenile driver.  The juvenile was arrested for Driving under the Influence and Driving without a License, and transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail, at which time it was determined that the juvenile had a blood alcohol level of .18, which is 9 times the limit for driver’s under 21 years of age, and more than twice the limit for an adult.  Christopher Stone was arrested for Allowing an Unauthorized Minor to Drive, and Felony Cruelty Towards a Child. The juvenile was booked and released to a guardian.  Stone was given a $3000.00 bond, and has since been released on the bond.
