Kayla Johnson named Class 1A Pitcher of the Year

The Class 1A All Florida High School Softball Teams were selected in July 2012.  Several local stars made the first team.  The Pitcher of the Year for Class 1A is Kayla Johnson of Liberty County.  Kayla is the daughter of Teresa and Jeremiah Johnson, all natives of Jay.  Kayla says, ”  I plan on going to college somewhere after high school. I have gotten several offers in Alabama, also Northwest Florida in Niceville, and Chipola in Marianna. I’m undecided on where I want to go at this point.”  Kayla started her career at the Jay Recreational League.

Local Winners are: Team 1 are: Olivia Wright, Ashlyn Geck and Sydney Lowery. Second Team: Becca Calloway and Tessa Hendricks.
