NEW ORLEANS, LA – Patrick Juneau, BP Oil Spill Claims Chief, invited Representative Doug Broxson (R-Gulf Breeze), Senator Greg Evers (R-Baker), Gulf County Commissioner and FL Assoc of Counties President Bill Williams, and Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino to meet with him for an update on the new BP Claims Administration and to tour the Deepwater Horizon Claim Center facility in New Orleans, LA.
“Mr. Juneau again gave us his assurance that they will perfect this new program for BP claimants including those affected in the Panhandle,” said Rep. Broxson. Mr. Juneau will also be visiting our area soon to continue to promote the new claims process and encourage those in our area to file or re-file their claims. Mr. Juneau’s greatest fear is that people will believe, “if their claim was previously denied, then the claim will be denied again. This is not necessarily true, and we encourage everyone who believes they have a valid claim to file or re-file under the new claims process. There is no penalty for filing a claim.”
Senator Evers commented, “The new BP claims administration will be great for the Gulf Coast. Patrick Juneau appears to be an honest broker for doing what is right.” Commissioner Valentino echoed these remarks, “It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Juneau. Not only is he a part of the local fabric of the Gulf Coast, but he has put together a structure for the settlement of these personal and business claims that makes sense. He has consolidated the operations of accounting, administration and the claims process in particular into one building in downtown New Orleans. He has created a sense of camaraderie – a positive spirit amongst staff and the political officials in the region. I am confident that he will most effectively respond to the needs of the citizens with a sense of fairness and balance in the claim settlement process.”
