Ward Sentenced to Life
Daniel Ward, 24, of Pensacola was sentenced to Life in Prison for the 2008 murder of Linda Tate. Ms. Tate, 59, was shot in her home on Blue Angel Parkway. It was two years before witnesses and DNA linked Ward to the murder and two more for the sentencing. Ward stole Oxycotin from the residence during the time of the homicide. He was charged with murder while engaged in a felony offense.
Presiding Circuit Judge Michael Allen sentenced Ward to life in prison without parole after the jury found him guilty. This is the mandatory sentence for a first-degree murder conviction.
