Gracie Juliette (Judy) McCurdy

Gracie Juliette McCurdy (Judy) age 70 who lived in Brewton, Alabama most of her married life, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 to live eternally with her Lord and Savior. In heaven she will enjoy the company of her loving mother, Mavis Booker and father, Robert Pitts as well as many other relatives and friends. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Glen McCurdy; one son, Stephen McCurdy; one daughter, Tina McCurdy; 5 grandchildren, Billy Murphy, Samantha Murphy, Tabetha Murphy, Miles Baker and Tiffany McCurdy and 2 great-grandchildren, Klohe Murphy and Zaiden Baker who loved and adored their nannie. She is also survived by a brother, Lynn (Ann) Pitts of Brewton, Alabama and a half-brother, Joe Booker of Rock Creek, Florida. Nannie who loved to fish, hunt and go camping would have spent her life at the cabin just relaxing and fishing. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Jay Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Thompson officiating services. Burial will follow at the Community of Christ of Berrydale Cemetery. Active pallbearers will are Doug McCurdy, Sandy Burkhead, Ralph Hayes, Chris Jones, Jack Floyd, and James Perrymore. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for the love and care given to Judy during her last days here on earth and also a special thanks to everyone for all the prayers, visits, and just that little something you did during our loss.
