According to the website associated with the Babe Ruth Association says, “ The City of Brewton and the Brewton Area YMCA, as well as the many volunteers associated with the program, are making our final preparations to host the 2012 State Tournaments. We intend to put our best foot forward in providing a memorable experience for your ballplayers, as well as providing for the comfort of parents and fans. Our complex, called the “YMCA Sports Park” is a source of pride for our community and we are delighted to show it off to our neighbors in the state. It is complete with four regulation size baseball/softball fields (2 skinned and 2 grass). Yes, there will be some tournament play on the grass infields. How much will be determined by the # of teams. Primarily the younger age groups (8U and 10U) will see action on these fields. We are very proud of our athletic tradition here in the Brewton area and we are delighted to add to this tradition by hosting this prestigious tournament. We wish every team best wishes, and GOOD LUCK!”
The YMCA Sports Park has 220 parking spaces. We encourage all participants to car pool as best you can. Parking attendants will be on hand to assist and guide you to open spaces. Once the lot is full, we will have alternate parking across from the T.R. Miller tennis courts just beyond the entrance of the YMCA Sports Park main entrance. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes once the YMCA Sports Park parking lot is full.
