41st Annual International Billfish Tournament Planned for July 5-8
Up to $565,000 in Cash and Prizes, Registration Still Open
On July 5, anglers from across the Gulf Coast will head out from Pensacola to the Gulf of Mexico for the 41st Annual Pensacola International Billfish Tournament, hosted by the Pensacola Big Game Fishing Club. The captains’ meeting takes place July 5 with actual fishing being permitted on July 6 and 7.
Most anglers will be in search of catching and tagging a blue marlin, the most prized big game fish in the Gulf. The biggest blue will result in a $10,000 cash prize. Other fish species anglers will be targeting include white marlin, tuna, dolphin, wahoo, and swordfish. In addition to the cash and prizes for the winning blue marlin, the winning anglers will receive an invitation to fish the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Offshore World Championship.
Tournament scales will be located at the Palafox Pier Marina. Scales will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 6 and from 3 p.m. until the final boat has been processed on July 7. The public is invited to attend to view the fish and festivities. Admission is free.

New this year is a small boat category for boats 32 feet and under and any boat with outboard engines. A $5,000 cash prize guarantee is available in this category.
