Deputy Catches Burglar in The Act in Milton
A 19 year oldMiltonman is in custody after a deputy caught him breaking into a vehicle onGalt City RoadinMilton. On 6/25/2012, at 0033 hours, Deputy Danny Miller was patrolling in the area ofGalt City Roadwhen he noticed a vehicle parked on the side of the road. The vehicle was located directly in front of4532 Galt City Road. Miller noticed that an adult female was sitting in the passenger seat with a small child. No one was sitting in the driver’s seat. Miller exited his vehicle and spoke with the female. The female stated that her friend, Cody Hayden (W/M, 5800 block of
Admirals Road,Milton) was driving the vehicle and stopped to look at a vehicle that was for sale in the front yard of the residence. Miller observed that car inside a fenced in front yard. The gate to the fence was open, and no one was around the vehicle. As Miller checked another vehicle on the property, he saw Hayden standing on the driver’s side with the driver’s door open. Hayden shut the door and attempted to crouch down and hide from Miller. Hayden was detained by Miller and other deputies that were sent to assist. Hayden was searched, at which time Miller located cash, CD’s, headphones, electronic cords, and a remote control. The owner of the vehicle identified the items as being taken from inside the vehicle. Hayden was arrested and transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail on the charges of Burglary and Petit Theft. He is being held on a $10,500.00 bond.
