Suspect Arrested For Threatening to Blow Up Sheriff’s Office After Being Angered For Receiving Traffic Ticket

A Pensacola man is in the Santa Rosa County Jail after making numerous 911 calls to the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch stating that he was going to blow up the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office then kill himself.  The suspect, Ronald Harrell, was angered over being pulled over by a deputy shortly before 4 am on 6/21/12.  Harrell was stopped and issued a traffic ticket due to running a red light at Avalon Blvd.and Interstate 10.  Harrell was irate with deputies during the traffic stop.  Once the traffic stop was concluded, Harrell drove to a nearby residence and began calling 911.  Harrell called 911 five times, yelling and using profanity in reference to the ticket that he received.  Harrell then stated that he was going to “start with the three deputies” then “blow up the Sheriff’s Office” and later “kill himself”.  Deputies were then dispatched to the location at which Harrell was placing the calls.  They made contact with Harrell who stated that he “wasn’t going to stand for it (the ticket)” and that “Somebody has to stand for this injustice”.

Harrell was arrested for Threatening to Discharge a Destructive Device (2nd degree felony) and Misuse of 911 (1st degree misdemeanor).  He is being held in the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $20,500.00 bond.

Suspect: Ronald Wayne Harrell, W/M, 23 years old, 2700 block of Midland Park Dr.,Pensacola, Fl.
