JHS Cheerleaders Leave for Camp

Jay High School JV and Varsity Cheerleading teams are attending  a Cheer Camp at the University of Florida.  The girls are leaving at 5 am on Tuesday, June 19.  Twenty  JV  girls plus their mascot and 15 for varsity will be on the trip.  They are going to the University of Alabama this year.  For the last three years, they  have traveled to a different university every year.  “I want them to experience different universities, campus life, and see the different options that are out there for them after high school; besides meeting new people, and expeiencing cheer camp life.”, says Coach Junia Fischer.
Universal Cheerleaders Association ( UCA)  puts on the camps and focus on team building, technique, game and pep rally day readiness, stunting, dance, cheers & chants, and starting a fan frenzy at your school.
Last year, camp is where the “I BELIEVE” theme came from that took off like a fire through the student body, fans, and community.  The girls are so excited to see what they will be coming home with this year.   The girls have been working since tryouts to prepare a routine to take to camp. They have also worked on stunts to allow them to be able to learn the higher level stunts at camp.  They will compete to be able to be in the elite groups.
The Varsity Squad  consists of 15 girls.  They are: Hannah Roberts, Sha Kinder, Jody Paramore, Sierra Mills, Kayla Flowers, Katy Bodiford, Kaitlyn Aguirre, Brook Tegenkamp, Brittany Tegenkamp, Harley Bradley, Morgin Mitchem, Alisha Roberts, Brittani Ashworth, Makenzie Bray, Kendra Wells.
The Junior Varsity squad will have 20 members.  They are: Alaina Smith, Leslie Kinder, Marisa Kirkland, Anna-Grace Smith, Savannah DuBose, Reilly Andrews, Miranda Roberts, Jescie Roberts, Madelyn Godwin, Danielle Harrington, Meghan Mayo, Taylor Scott, Savannah Seevers, Hope Miller, Emily Wright, Samantha Campbell, Courtney Walther, Launa Burkhead, Megan Mulford, and Rebecca Boutwell.

This is a great group of girls! They were all super excited as they loaded the bus this morning. I pray that they all have a fantastic time at The University of Alabama and have a safe trip back home from camp. May we all remember this group of young ladies in our prayers this week. I would like to say thank you so much to Ms. Fischer & Ms. Jordan!!! This is a great experience & I’m so thankful for you two coaches being such great leaders & role models!
