SANTA ROSA COUNTY ADVISORY FOR INLAND SWIMMING AREAS

SANTA ROSA COUNTY ADVISORY FOR INLAND SWIMMING AREAS

Due to heavy rainfall in the past several days that may have contaminated inland swimming areas, the Santa Rosa County Health Department is advising residents to avoid water related activities in all areas except the Gulf of Mexico.

Runoff from heavy rains may have washed contaminants into rivers and lakes that may expose those entering the water to waterborne diseases.  Those with open wounds or weakened immune systems may be especially susceptible to illness.

The Santa Rosa County Health Department will continue to monitor water quality in our area and will advise residents when testing indicates that it is safe to resume water related activities.

For more information, contact the Santa Rosa County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division at 850-983-5275.
