A Pace man turned himself in Wednesday after the Florida Highway Patrol issued a warrant for his arrest on charges stemming from a fatal DUI crash.

Calan Floyd Lewis, 23, has been charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, according to a news release from the FHP.

On April 25 about 2 a.m., Jasmine Celest Wuesthoff, 19, of Pace, was killed as a passenger of a sport utility vehicle that veered off of Sandy Landing Road and flipped, the crash report said.

The driver, Lewis, was taken to West Florida Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The report indicates the crash was alcohol related, and neither Lewis nor Wuesthoff was wearing a seat belt. The FHP has not said what Lewis’ blood-alcohol content was the night of the crash.

Lewis turned himself in to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office after his arrest warrant was issued, the report said. He is being held in jail without bond until his first court appearance.
