Golf Tournament Supports Vets to VA Clinics -Hole-in-One Wins 2012 Jeep Compass
Enjoy a day of golf and support Santa Rosa County veterans by sponsoring a team or playing as an individual in the Vets to VA Clinics Golf Tournament on Friday, May 18 at the NAS Whiting Field Golf Course. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a shot gun start at 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Vets to VA Clinics, a transportation program offered by the Santa Rosa County Veterans Memorial Foundation which will provide scheduled shuttle service for Santa Rosa County veterans in need of transportation assistance to the VA clinic in Escambia County starting this summer. Milton Dodge Jeep Chrysler, Inc. will give a new 2012 Jeep Compass for a hole-in-one on the designated green.
The tournament also features prizes for first, second and third place teams as well as “closest to the pin” and “longest drive” awards. Lunch, mulligans, cart, tee busters, and beverage tickets are included in the sponsorship package of $300 per team or $75 for individuals. Gold, silver, bronze and tee marker sponsorships are also available. The deadline to register for the tournament is Tuesday, May 15. The Santa Rosa County Vets to VA Clinics program will provide transportation for Santa Rosa County resident veterans to the VA clinic in Pensacola for health care beginning this summer. District 3 Commissioner and Vets to VA Clinics Chairman Don Salter explains, “For many of our veterans, VA is their only health care, yet so many do not have the resources or ability to obtain transportation on their own. Business leaders, concerned citizens and fellow veterans have come together to continue to honor our Santa Rosa County veterans by creating this free of charge, transportation program from their home to the VA clinic.” Participation in the golf tournament and an additional contribution/sponsorship to this program will help make this program a success and continue to provide transportation for our veterans for many years to come.
